Our mission: Create a sustainable, functional farmstead that provides peace, joy, and financial security for our family while serving others within our community. We are a God loving family and try to live each day within his will.

Who are we... We are a family (real farmers) that is passionate about connecting people (you) back to their food source. We strive to offer families with fresh, nutrient dense food options that will improve their overall health and happiness.

Good day friends, my name is Shane Smith and I run the HillJack Hideaway Farmstead with my wife Jamie and 2 children. We have been married for 21 of the most amazing years of my life. In 2017, I retired from the active duty Army after nearly 24 years of service to our nation. Upon retirement, I knew God was calling me back to my roots in agriculture. We decided to build our future around a farm to table beef operation.

Jamie also has a heart to serve others and has worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 23 years. She is the foundation in which our farm is built and I absolutely could not do this without her. Agriculture was not a part of Jamie's childhood but she has proven to be a natural. 

While we will never be "off-grid" we are focused on moving to a more self sustaining lifestyle and we hope to share this journey with you. In the future you can expect to see information about our cattle, beef sales, hay production, chickens, gardening and preserving our harvest. I will also be sharing information from other local agricultural based businesses that may benefit you in the future.
